G-11

G-11 is a high-performance glass epoxy laminate that has several common properties in common with G-10 and FR-4. Most notably, it's able to withstand very high temperatures.
Like G-10, G-11 is a thermoset fiberglass laminate made from filament glass cloth and an epoxy resin. Its natural color ranges from yellow-green to slightly amber. G-11 has excellent mechanical and insulative properties in a range of applications.
Key Characteristics of G-11
- Mechanical Strength: G-11 boasts high tensile and flexural strength, making it suitable for load-bearing applications.
- Electrical Insulation: With excellent dielectric properties, G-11 is an ideal electrical insulator.
- Moisture Resistance: G-11 also has low water absorption, maintaining its properties in humid environments.
- Dimensional Stability: It's extremely resistant to creep and maintains its shape under various conditions.
- Chemical Resistance: G-11 resists many chemicals, particularly in moist and humid conditions.
- Temperature Performance: It can operate in a wide temperature range, from -200°C to 180°C.
G-11's unique combination of mechanical strength, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance makes it a versatile material for OEMs. While it may be more expensive than some alternative materials, its superior performance often justifies the cost in demanding applications. As Engineers continue to seek high-performance materials that can handle demanding environemnts, G-11 will remain a go-to material for numerous applications.
