G-9

G-9 is a high-performance composite material that is made from woven glass cloth and melamine resin. Glass melamine has several notable characteristics, such as heat, arc, flame, and alkalai resistance. G-9 is one of two grades of glass melamine laminates available, the other being G-5.
G-9 has excellent heat resistance and can withstand temperatures up to 284°F (140°C). G-9 and G-5 are both grades of glass-melamine. G-5 is an older designation than G-9 and allows for higher amounts of water absorption compared to G-9. G-9 has mostly replaced G-5 in many applications, due to its ability to withstand exposure to outdoor elements and wet conditions. In many instances, G-9 can be used in place of G-5.
Key Characteristics of G-9
