Fluoropolymers

Fluoropolymers are a family of high-performance plastics that have revolutionized several industries due to their exceptional properties. We'll list some of the more common types of fluropolymers, their mechanical characteristics, and some of their applications across different OEMs.
Types of Fluoropolymers.
- PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
- Very low coefficient of friction
- Known for its chemical resistance properties and high heat resistance
- Commonly used in industrial seals
- ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene)
- Offers high purity
- Provides high strength and excellent electrical properties
- Used in aerospace for gaskets, bearings, and seals
- PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride)
- Excellent UV resistance
- Offers good mechanical strength and chemical resistance
- Used in piping systems and lithium-ion battery components
- PCTFE (Polychloro Trifluoroethylene)
- Very low moisture absorption
- Excellent electrical properties
- Extremely low outgassing
