PTFE Machining

<p>PTFE is one of the most well known plastics in the world. Most know it by the famous Dupont brandname, Teflon®. PTFE is a semi-crystalline fluropolymer with its full polymer name being Polytetrafluoroethylene. PTFE is considered a High-Performance plastic due to its unique characteristics such as high thermal stability, chemical resistance, and excellent sliding properties. While PTFE does have many excellent characteristics, it does have much lower mechanical strength when compared to other High-Performance plastic materials, but this can be improved with additives such as glass fibres, or carbon and bronze to improve its mechanical properties.</p><p>CNC Machined PTFE parts have numerous applications across many different markets and can be machined to tight-tolerance with the proper expertise and familiarity with the properties of this High-Performance plastic.
