PEEK

PEEK material, chemically known as polyetheretherketone, is a high-performance plastic material. PEEK is considered a semi-crystalline material which means it has both amorphous and crystalline regions in its structure. It's semi-crystalline structure is what makes it have such excellent mechanical properties, wear resistance, high-temperature performance, and resistance to numerous chemicals.
Parts that are manufactured from PEEK can typically operate at temperatures up to 480°F and have a melting point around 646°F. PEEK is one of the best heat-resistant materials among the high-performance plastics. While PEEK tends to be a tad on the expensive side, Engineers have come to realize that PEEK parts excel in numerous harsh environments all while providing lighter, stronger, and better performing plastic parts.
PEEK is available in sheet, plate, rod, and tube in numerous grades such as the following:
- PEEK natural unfilled
- Glass-filled PEEK
- Carbon-filled PEEK
- Bearing Grade PEEK
- PEEK PTFE-filled bearing grade
- Biocompatible PEEK
- X-Ray & Metal Detectable PEEK
- Anti-static PEEK
- And numerous other grades
